Looking back at the year I am really proud of the work I did working on The Memory Blocks, Andrew Kotting's latest experimental feature film. The film delves into the magical waters of memory and features Andrew's daughter, Eden, dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, as she goes on a journey through time and explores the concept of memories through the precarious lens of neuro-diversity.
I was responsible for shooting some of the footage and aerial shots, mostly internal at the works where Andrew creates all his material. I was also resonpisble for the colour grade and worked closely with Andrew to get the look he was after.
It was a joyful process - I must have seen the film countless times but never tired of watching it - and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity and to Andrew for having the trust in me to do the job and to get it where it needed to go. Grading footage from a high end Arri, two mid range DSLRs and basic iPhone clips too is not easy but we had it all matching up and got there by the end.
Try to see the film - it is truly amazing!
