La Montanara is a compilation edit of some aerial drone footage shot in the awesome Tyrolean Dolomites, an area of unsurpassable and breathtaking natural beauty.

The music is La Montanara, an equally brilliant folk-inspired song with lyrics and music composed in 1927 by Toni Ortelli, a mountaineer born in Schio, in the province of Vicenza, but he became Piedmontese by adoption.

The harmonization of the piece for four voices is signed by Luigi Pigarelli.

We used to play this CD every night in the appartment looking out as the mountains disappeared into the evening light. It's a magical, mystical place in which I could happily spend eternity!
